1. Payment
When a customer confirms a Booking, Beedy charges the agreed price plus a transparent platform fee (5% by default; the exact percentage is shown at checkout). Beedy holds the funds and pays the Pro after the service is marked complete and the dispute window has elapsed.
The 5% platform fee covers payment processing, dispute mediation, fraud protection, and the technology that connects you with verified Pros. The fee is shown line-by-line on the checkout screen — there are no hidden charges.
Payment processors
Card and PayPal payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal under PCI-DSS Level 1 standards. Beedy never stores raw card numbers — only tokens.
Fraud protection
Beedy actively monitors transactions for suspicious activity (identity mismatch, repeated chargebacks, anomalous IPs). Flagged transactions go to manual review by a Beedy operator before any payout.
2. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellation is free up to a cut-off that depends on the size of the Booking and how close it is to the scheduled service. The refund percentage is computed automatically by Beedy at the moment of cancellation.
The canonical refund schedule — three tiers (Small / Medium / Large) with full per-bucket percentages and the cooling-off exception — lives in Section 5 of the Terms of Service. The summary below is informational; the Terms control if there is any difference.
Tier 1 — Small project
Up to USD 250 · 5 min to 8 h of work
100% / 85% / 60% / 40% (48h+ / 24-48h / 0-24h / on the way). Cooling-off: 30 min after booking.
Tier 2 — Medium project
USD 250–800 · 5 min to 1 day of work
100% / 80% / 65% / 50% (4d+ / 24h-4d / 0-24h / on the way). Cooling-off: 8 h after booking.
Tier 3 — Large project
USD 800–5,000 · 5 min to 3 days of work
100% / 85% / 70% / 60% (7d+ / 24h-7d / 0-24h / on the way). Cooling-off: 24 h after booking.
Your consumer rights: Nothing on this page waives mandatory consumer-protection rights under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), applicable U.S. federal and state consumer-protection law, or EU consumer-protection law. Where statutory rights are more favourable than the schedule above, statutory rights apply.
3. No-shows
A no-show is when one side doesn't show up at the scheduled time without a valid prior cancellation. Beedy handles each side differently.
Customer no-show
If the customer doesn't appear within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time and doesn't respond to the Pro's calls or in-app messages, the booking is closed as a no-show. The customer forfeits the same percentage as the closest applicable cancellation bucket (typically 40-60%, see Section 5).
Pro no-show
If the Pro doesn't appear within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time and doesn't respond, the customer can declare a Pro no-show in the app. Beedy refunds the customer in full and the Pro is automatically reviewed for the penalty system below.
Pro no-shows trigger a penalty (currently $50) and count toward the auto-ban threshold (3 penalties in a rolling 90-day window leads to an automatic Pro account suspension pending manual review).
4. Service execution
Three operational features keep every Beedy service trustworthy from start to finish.
Security code: When the Pro arrives, the customer is shown a 4-digit security code in the app. The Pro can only start the timer / mark the service as begun after the customer reads the code aloud. This protects against impersonation and unauthorised entry.
Photo evidence: The Pro takes before and after photos that are stored on the booking record. These photos are required for dispute mediation and serve as proof of service quality and condition.
Completion confirmation: The customer confirms in-app that the service is complete and satisfactory. This unlocks the Pro's payout (after the dispute window) and triggers the review prompt.
5. Deposits & prepayment
For most Bookings, the full service price is captured at the time of Booking (held by Beedy) and only paid to the Pro after completion. There is no separate security deposit by default.
For high-value Bookings (Tier 3) or for service categories that require materials advances, the Pro may request a partial prepayment disclosed at the call for tenders stage. Any prepayment is non-refundable only to the extent of materials actually purchased — the labour portion follows the refund schedule in Section 5.
6. Disputes & resolution
If a service is not delivered as agreed — wrong work, damage, missing items, no-show — open a dispute within seven (7) days of the scheduled service date.
- 1
Talk to the other side first: Most issues resolve through the in-app chat in under 24 hours. Be specific about what went wrong and what you want as a remedy.
- 2
Open a Beedy mediation: If the in-app chat doesn't resolve it, tap "Open a dispute" on the booking screen. Beedy support reviews the booking record (messages, photos, security code, timestamps) and proposes a fair outcome.
- 3
Beedy decision: Beedy may issue a partial refund, full refund, re-do credit, or Pro account suspension. The decision is based on the booking record and the policies on this page.
- 4
External recourse: If you disagree with the Beedy decision, you keep all your statutory rights — including chargeback through your card issuer and consumer-protection complaints in your country of residence. See ToS Section 10 for governing law and venue.
Service that caused damage or injury: If the service caused property damage or personal injury, contact support@beedy.app immediately and do not delete any evidence. These claims are escalated to a senior reviewer and may be referred to the Pro's professional liability insurance. Beedy will preserve the booking record, help you obtain the Pro's identity and (where disclosed) insurance information from our verified records, and may suspend the Pro pending investigation. Beedy does NOT pay damages directly — the Pro is liable. We recommend you also contact the Pro's professional liability insurer (if disclosed at onboarding) and, where the incident is serious, your own homeowner's / health insurance and local authorities.
7. Reporting bad behaviour
Beedy is a marketplace for everyone — harassment, discrimination, fraud, and any unlawful behaviour are grounds for permanent removal.
A Pro behaved badly
Open the booking → tap "Report Pro" → select a reason. Reports are reviewed within 48 hours; for safety incidents (harassment, threats), reports are reviewed within 4 hours.
A Customer behaved badly
From the booking, tap "Report Customer" → select a reason. Pros who report a safety incident can pause new bookings from that customer immediately while the report is reviewed.
Reports should be submitted within 7 days of the incident, with as much detail and evidence as possible. Beedy may share reports with law enforcement when legally required or when a credible safety risk exists.
